In front of the entire Golden Globes audience, Jeremy Renner made quick quip about his co-presenter Jennifer Lopez.
In what seemed to be an unscripted moment, the two debated who should open the envelope to announce the winner in the Best Actor in a Mini Series category.

Renner indicated JLo should pry the envelope open and she agreed, adding, “I’ve got the nails.”
He quickly chimed in: "You've got the globes, too," referring to Lopez’ chest, which was on full display Sunday night.
The singer-turned-actress was wearing her signature super low cut style to the Globes in a tight sparkly gown with a deep V-neck.
Lopez looked irked by Renner’s remark and the two left the ... Read more »

If there's one thing we know, it's that Paris Hilton isn't like us.
Unlike the rest of us plebes, the heiress recently dropped five figures on a 6 ounce Pomeranian puppy. And also unlike normal people, Hilton decided to name the teacup pup after herself because, well, she's freakin' Paris Hilton.

"I love her. Her name's Princess Paris Jr.," the 33-year-old told the  ... Read more »

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is fully prepared for the 2015 general elections, observing that the support it enjoys among Nigerians from the ward to the national levels is a sure guarantee to victory.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Monday described APC's allegations of plots to postpone the elections as a tactics to divert attention from the findings of the State Security Services (SSS) that it has devised means to hack into INEC's data base, clone the Permanent Voter's Card and ultimately compromise the outcome of the elections.

The PDP said nothing can be more evident that the APC is not preparing to face the electorates than the frivolous and unfounded allegations and use of propaganda in an effort to hoodwink Nigerians even in the face of cle ... Read more »

Tina Fey said it best. (Per usual.)
“George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year,” Fey joked during her Golden Globes monologue. “Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three-person U.N. commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award.”

To be fair, she seemed to like that joke about her and George, but mostly, she just looked like she would rather be anywhere else.
Even when she smiled and laughed and tried to look like she was having a good time, she mostly just looked like she was miserable and very unimpressed by all her husband's actors buddies giving each other a ... Read more »

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Deputy Coordinator and Spokesman, Mr. Amakiri Amakuro, said the attacks have left at least 7 persons seriously injured and hospitalized; he described the dastardly act as shameful and primitive; an act perpetrated by desperate and criminal minded agents of darkness poised for destruction.

Apparently, Amy Adams is used to showing off her Golden Globes.
Adams — who was looking stunning in a draped Versace gown — stopped by to talk with ET's Nancy O'Dell on the Golden Globes carpet, and she spilled details on her past job as a Hooters waitress.

"I would be proud of that," O'Dell told the Big Eyes actress. "I would be like, 'I had the body, people!'"
Adams revealed that despite her petite frame, she was much more curvaceous in her youth. "Well I was like 18, so everybody has the body at 18," she said. "But it was a great job out of high school and I was a hostess at first, and then I waited tables for a while, and it was great. It was a great way for me to earn money for college." ... Read more »

NIGERIA - Reports are flying that Northern leaders who had hitherto supported Buhari may be making a U-turn in the February elections after reports that the general may be having a serious health problem.

This is following the online rumors that Buhari collapsed during his presidential campaign rally in Calabar.

Even though the APC denied the report, it has given cause for worry, and the North has become wary, after they were 'sidelined' after Yar'Adua died in May, 2010 before completing his tenure, a development which led to the abrupt shift of power to the South-South under the rulership of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan.

“The North is beginning to rethink the promised support for Buhari in view of reports that he is su ... Read more »

Meryl Streep has been nominated for 18 Academy Awards and 29 Golden Globes, including one for Into the Woods this Sunday, but she hasn't always been the actress of choice.
On "The Graham Norton Show," the "Into The Woods" star recalled a time when she auditioned for the 1976 film King Kong with producer Dino De Laurentiis. His son had seen a then-unknown Meryl in a play and brought her in to audition for the role of Dawn.

Since Streep, 65, knew Italian, she understood Dino's words as he asked his son, “Why do you bring me this ugly thing?”
She then responded in Italian, saying, "I’m sorry I’m not beautiful enough to be ... Read more »

NIGERIA - A number of powerful emirs have turned down a fellow emir's lobby for President Goodluck Jonathan in readiness for the February polls.

The emirs, The Nation is reporting, have decided to remain neutral and support anyone who the electorate votes in.

The newspaper's source said: “The Emir has been telling his colleagues that Jonathan has been fair to the North and to avoid a dent in the North/South south relationship, the President should be allowed to have a second term in office.

“Some of these Emirs and royal fathers pointed to the volatility of Northern politics and opted to take the back seat to await the people’s choice. Remember how a special adviser was burnt to death in the Second Republic for querying the Em ... Read more »

When Hollywood gathers for the 72nd annual Golden Globes on Sunday night, real-world events may loom over what's usually one of the industry's most carefree and rollicking evenings.
The three-hour ceremony, which NBC will televise live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, beginning at 8 p.m. EST, comes on the heels of the deadly terrorist attack in Paris at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. It also follows Hollywood's own international incident over provocative parody: the hacking attack against Sony Pictures prompted by the North Korea farce "The Interview."
Yet Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can be counted on to exercise their right to free speech in the duo's third year in a row hosting. The night's Cecil B. DeMille Award hon ... Read more »
